August Interactive (augustinteractive.gg), a technology-forward gaming studio, has joined the Face the Fight coalition (wefacethefight.org), ushering in a new era of veteran mental health support through cutting-edge gaming and esports initiatives. This collaboration leverages the power of interactive entertainment to address critical challenges faced by our nation's heroes.
The partnership will leverage August Interactive's flagship programs — the Gamers and Guardians live streaming series and the Military Esports League (MEL) — to amplify Face the Fight's mission of preventing veteran suicide and promoting mental health awareness.
Veteran suicide is not inevitable — it is preventable. Face the Fight works to ensure that no veteran, family member, caregiver, or survivor feels isolated in their journey. It strives for a future where every individual has access to support and resources, leading to a dramatic reduction in veteran suicide by 2030.
Face the Fight unites a growing coalition of over 200 organizations to address the national crisis around veteran suicide.
"We've seen the power of gaming to build communities and provide support. This collaboration embodies our commitment to leveraging technology for social impact and addressing the unique challenges our veterans face with innovative, engaging solutions that meet them where they are — in the digital spaces they know and love. Plus, with AU's Sarah Kneller and Jake Kanner — two of the wickedly creative minds behind Emmy Award-winning The International Dota 2 competition — you know the experience is going to be out of this world, full of surprises, and a ton of fun."
