Washington, D.C. - America250, the national nonpartisan organization established by Congress to lead the nation's 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, today announced a landmark partnership with the Military Esports League (the MEL). Through this collaboration, the MEL becomes an official America250 partner, integrating competitive gaming, military community engagement, and digital-first programming into the Semiquincentennial celebration.
The partnership recognizes the rapidly growing role of esports within military culture and the power of gaming to build connection, resilience, and community among service members, veterans, and military families. The MEL's nationwide footprint and year-round competitive structure will help America250 reach younger, digitally native audiences while honoring the legacy and ongoing contributions of the U.S. Armed Forces.
"America's 250th anniversary is an opportunity to engage new generations in the stories and values that shape our nation," said Jen Condon, Executive Vice President at America250. "The Military Esports League's ability to connect service members and communities through competition and digital engagement offers a powerful way to honor service while expanding participation in the Semiquincentennial."

As part of the partnership, the MEL will activate a series of national and regional esports events and storytelling initiatives that highlight service, teamwork, and the modern military experience. These activations will complement America250's broader mission to educate, engage, and unite Americans ahead of July 4, 2026.
"Gaming has become a powerful connector across today's military community," said Gus Kangus, Executive Director of the Military Esports League Foundation. "Partnering with America250 allows us to honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the next generation through competition, camaraderie, and shared purpose. We're honored to bring the military gaming community into this historic national moment."

America250 is the largest commemorative initiative in U.S. history, designed to engage 350 million Americans through national programming, partnerships, and storytelling. The inclusion of the Military Esports League marks the first time esports has been integrated into a major U.S. historical commemoration.
America250's mission is to celebrate and commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, marking America's Semiquincentennial. We aim to inspire our fellow Americans to reflect on our past, strengthen our love of country, and renew our commitment to the ideals of democracy through programs that educate, engage, and unite us as a nation. America250 will foster shared experiences that spark imagination, showcase the rich tapestry of our American stories, inspire service in our communities, honor enduring strength, and celebrate the resilience of the United States of America.
